Sick and Tired

Well, I got sick. I've got a sore throat, and that always means more symptoms to come. Yesterday was fun until my symptoms got worse. I went swimming for the last day, but the camp fire was much less fun because I was shivering (Shira got me a scarf. So nice of her.) Today I have to finish my projects (the chess animation is rendering right now), and then we're leaving. It sucks so bad I'm going to be sick during the last few days.

Google Haifa, the Navy, & a Scavenger Hunt

So, today the oldest kids at camp got the opportunity to go to an Israeli naval base right next to the border with Lebanon. We saw a movie about their navy. The whole thing about how Lebanese fisherman always cross the border to fish, but sometimes they're actually terrorists and attack the patrol boat. Then, we went on a quick tour of Akko, which I thought was really pretty, but I couldn't shop at the market. :( Google Haifa was really cool-looking. They had free snacks (including Ben and Jerry's), and drinks. It was really interesting to see how they laid out their offices. The walls were covered with writing. :) After dinner, when we were back, everyone had a treasure hunt using clues, though we lost. Can't believe tomorrow's the last full day here.

Victoriously Holding Laundry Bag

Well, I got my laundry back today, which means I get pajamas again. I can't remember if anything's missing, but it seems like something should be. I have to work at the store tonight. I felt good enough today to go swimming, but before that I played this game of Shoots and Ladders that one of the counselors made up. You know me, I'm a sucker for a board game. We had to do dares and answer questions about Israel. And I got Taffy, which made me happy. Almost done all my chess pieces in 3D, just need to fuss with the king and do all the cloning. The pig game is pretty much set up, but there's always more to do with it. I hope we can get the software at home (if it's not an arm and a leg) so I can work on it more. I've got a working score, life, and lose system up. Video was kind of frustrating, because there was kind of frustrating, since Alex and I had to struggle with the 10-year-olds to do work. I don't think I've told you all about shnitzel yet. No, I don't mean a German sausage (Google hits, here I come), it's chicken here. Breaded chicken. Yes, weird. Apparently we're going to go to some kibbutz near the beach for Shabbat now, which should be fun. I did want to get to differentiate the last part of the trip, even if I don't hate it here like other people.

Sunburned in eCamp

So, I totally suck at updating a blog. Anyway, I'm here in eCamp now, taking 3D modeling, mobile phone games (making 'em) and video filming and editing. I like most of the classes more or less, though my final project in modeling turned out to be the same as another person's who is younger and much, much better. My phone game is going pretty well, it's a pig walking through a "maze" eating acorns and avoiding a dog, but I still need to make the acorns generate better and maybe add another level. I got totally sunburned in the competition they held on Saturday, and it hurts so bad. I've been borrowing one of my roommate's aloe vera, but I still feel knocked out, and I didn't swim today because I couldn't put on a swimsuit. We did more filming in Video class, mine this time. I wrote a overly artistic skit thing called "Nightmare" and we filmed in my dorm room and the trees outside the mess hall. I think it came out pretty well. The amount of epoints in my account seems too low for what I've spent, so I have to look into that. I'm getting pretty far in my H.P. Lovecraft book, I might need to borrow one from someone else/ buy one for the plane. Man, only 5 days left! Still need to get my laundry back. Fingers crossed it comes out O.K.

Hello world!

So, Mifgash is getting us to make a blog to inform you guys about what we're doing here. The journey's been really interesting so far, though the plane ride and the day afterward knocked me out. They had us running all over the place, and my shoes weren't quite right for a lot of the streets. I still need to get shekels (d'oh). It was one of those things where I'm just a little late to get whatever service was available. Too late at the airport- we had to go. Too late in the bus- the guy passed right past me. I tried to during the scavenger hunt, but my group got lost and went nowhere near an ATM. Oy. Well, I should get some soon. Anyway, there'll be more to come after this. Later!
